Mission and objectives
Mission

Life transitions can represent periods of risk for the psychosocial adaptation of individuals, both during the school period (e.g., decline in grades after the transition to high school for many students) and post-school (e.g., psychological distress and drop-out rates in certain professions). On the other hand, the obligation to change and adapt that comes with any major transition can also be an open door to a better future for the individuals who go through it.
The mission of the Chair is to mobilize scientific knowledge, professional expertise, and the lived experiences of student populations in order to support the flourishing of youth and adults throughout their educational pathways. By recognizing the value of diverse trajectories, the Chair seeks to promote the well-being of each individual and, ultimately, contribute to the advancement of Quebec society.
Objectives

The main objective of the Chair is to promote exchanges between research communities and practitioners to propose innovative strategies in response to needs emanating from the fields of education and health to support the well-being of individuals in transition. The pooling of expertise will help to better understand the psychosocial challenges associated with these transitions in order to better support well-being and educational success, particularly through risk and protective factors.
